Chandler was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware in a nominally Christian home. She came to understand the gospel and trust Christ for the forgiveness of her sins on a youth group missions trip where she saw the ugliness of her sin and the depth of God’s mercy in Christ. After college at the University of Delaware, Chandler moved to Louisville, KY to pursue a Master’s degree at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. While at Southern, Chandler joined Immanuel Baptist Church where she later met her husband, Mike. Mike and Chandler moved to Charleston, SC in the summer of 2016 as part of the core team sent from Immanuel to plant Holy City Church.
Since 2017, Chandler has served as the Director of Women’s Ministry at Holy City Church—leading women’s Bible study, teaching, and counseling. She is a certified biblical counselor, currently pursuing a PhD in Biblical Counseling and Practical Theology at Southern. Her passion for gospel-centered biblical counseling is deeply shaped by her own story of God’s redemptive grace through seasons of hardship and suffering, and she finds great joy in helping women to know the surpassing worth of Christ and the unshakable hope found in his promises so that they might rightly apply the truths of Scripture to life’s everyday challenges.
